I
was given an opportunity in September 2010 to climb Kilimanjaro
and to raise money for charity at the same time. Taking on this
challenge was something completely outside my comfort zone and
the associated exercise was also very alien to me. A few months
into the training, the walking began to get monotonous and a
friend suggested that I contact her personal trainer. The next
2-3 months were spent partly on walking training and partly
on Steve's fitness programme. His attention to detail, personal
experience of Kilimanjaro and sympathetic, non-judgemental approach
to me and my challenge were incredibly helpful and, ultimately,
both rewarding and successful. Without Steve's personal insight,
guidance and encouragement in those last few months of training,
I am sure my challenge would have been far more difficult than
it was. I would like to thank him for his time and patience
and, above all, for giving me the focus and the fitness to achieve
my goal.
